Breakfast Roundtable: Aging SIG Business Meeting, Awards, and Discussion
This year, the Aging SIG breakfast roundtable aims to engage participants in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Building on last year's format, we will spotlight the accomplishments of SIG members, celebrate our abstract award winners, and provide an overview of SIG activities in 2024. We will also encourage attendees to attend presentations by Aging SIG members and our networking event at SBM 2025. In addition to these spotlights, we plan to introduce several interactive elements to foster greater involvement and idea exchange across all career stages. First, we will solicit ideas on how to improve the SIG, discussing strategies and lessons learned, with a focus on implementing the most promising approaches. Second, we will explore ongoing engagement opportunities, such as the introduction of 'Lightning Talks' and 'Works in Progress' sessions to highlight current research and explore potential collaborations. Finally, given SBM's wider emphasis on cross-SIG collaboration, we will explore avenues for partnering with other SIGs to leverage diverse expertise and foster multi-disciplinary educational, training, and research initiatives. These proposed enhancements to our Breakfast Meeting are designed to make the Aging SIG meeting a starting point for substantive dialogue, mentorship, and collaboration, setting a proactive agenda for the coming year.
